Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
Group: Pesto Sauce
  • 1 cup fresh basil pesto
Group: Cheeses
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Group: Toppings
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • Salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes for a hint of heat (optional)

Method
 

  1. Start by preheating your oven to a steaming 475°F (245°C).
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter and transfer it to a baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
  3. Evenly spread the fresh basil pesto over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  4. Arrange slices of fresh mozzarella on top and sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
  5. Scatter the halved cherry tomatoes across the cheese.
  6. Add a light sprinkle of salt and pepper, then drizzle with olive oil.
  7. Place your pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let the pizza cool for a moment before slicing it into wedges.
