- Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt, cooking slowly for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the caramelized onions cool for a few minutes. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Gently fold in the cooled caramelized onions into the creamy mixture until well combined.
