Delicious Sweet Onion Turkey Cheddar Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet onions
  • 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pre-made pie crust

Method
 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sweet onions and a sprinkle of salt. Stir occasionally until softened and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Add ground turkey to the skillet with the caramelized onions. Cook until turkey is no longer pink, stirring in garlic powder and salt.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the turkey mixture, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and eggs. Mix well.
  4. Prepare pie crust according to package directions. Pour the filling into the crust and smooth the top.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 30-40 minutes until the center jiggles slightly and the top is golden brown.

Notes

Allow pie to cool slightly before slicing for clean cuts. Enjoy your comforting dish!
