Ingredients

Group: Ingredients
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (preferably natural brands without added sugar)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low-sodium variant recommended)
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • ½ cup warm water

Method

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, add the creamy peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey or maple syrup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. As you mix, take a moment to enjoy the fragrant aroma from the garlic and ginger.
  2. Begin whisking the ingredients. At first, the mixture will be thick, but gradually add the warm water, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve your desired consistency. Stop when it's creamy yet pourable, perfect for coating noodles or vegetables.
  3. Taste your peanut sauce and let your creativity shine! You might want to add a little more vinegar for acidity, more honey for sweetness, or extra red pepper flakes for heat. I often enhance it with a hint of garlic, as it complements the sauce beautifully.
  4. Enjoy your peanut sauce right away or transfer it to an airtight container. It's perfect for meal prep and can be stored in the fridge for later use.

Notes

Store your peanut sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. The flavors will deepen over time!
