Ingredients

Group: Base Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp. matcha powder high-quality Japanese recommended
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or your favorite non-dairy milk
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries thaw if frozen
  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup for sweetness
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract pure vanilla preferred
  • Ice optional, for a chilled version

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Blender
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk
  • Mug

Method

  1. Begin by warming your almond milk in a saucepan over low heat. It's important to avoid boiling; you only want it hot enough to dissolve the matcha smoothly.
  2. While the milk heats, blend the blueberries with the maple syrup and vanilla extract in a blender until the mixture is smooth and vibrant.
  3. In a small bowl, add the matcha powder. Pour in a few tablespoons of the warm almond milk and whisk vigorously until glossy and well combined.
  4. In your favorite mug, pour the blueberry puree first, followed by the creamy matcha mixture. Watch as the colors swirl together.
  5. If you prefer a chilled version, fill a glass with ice before layering the mixtures.
  6. Give it a gentle stir to combine the layers, and then enjoy this gorgeous drink that tastes as good as it looks!

Notes
